Martell

Martell cognac house was founded in 1715 of the only 21 year old Jean Martell. Today it is part of the Pernod-Richard group but was for many years owned by the American group Seagram. Martell predominantly uses grapes from Borderies which is believed to make more than 60% of its production. The house also uses grapes Grande Champagne, Petite Champagne, Fins Bois. The casks used are normally a bit smaller than other houses and are mainly made from Tronçais oak.
